The record for the highest individual score in a women’s U-19 match is held by South Africa’s Lizelle Lee, who scored an unbeaten 427 for Mpumalanga against Kei in 2010. Recently, India’s Jadhav put up a remarkable performance, opening the innings and contributing to two massive partnerships. She first combined with captain Hurley Gala for a 274-run stand, with Gala scoring 116 off 79 balls and Jadhav smashing 149 off 71 balls. Jadhav then formed a 186-run stand with Diksha Pawar, contributing 137 off just 50 balls. This onslaught left Meghalaya’s bowlers struggling, as three of them conceded over 100 runs.
Jadhav, a student at Shardashram Vidyamandir International School—alma mater of cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli, and Ajit Agarkar—has shown great promise from a young age. Despite her impressive performance, she went unsold in the WPL 2025 auction, becoming one of the youngest players to register. However, her talent didn’t go unnoticed, as she was soon named among the standbys for India’s Under-19 T20 World Cup squad, set to travel to Malaysia.
Jadhav’s rapid rise in domestic cricket highlights her immense potential, as she continues to make a name for herself with remarkable performances. Her ability to dominate with the bat in crucial partnerships makes her one to watch in the future of women’s cricket.
Haryana overcame a late collapse to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, defeating Gujarat despite losing five wickets for just 19 runs in the final stages of their chase. The collapse did little to derail Haryana’s momentum, as they had earlier bowled Gujarat out for 196, thanks to a collective effort from their bowlers. Haryana completed the chase in 44 overs in Vadodara, proving their resilience.
Arsh Ranga gave Haryana a strong start to their modest chase, blasting 25 off 16 balls in a 29-run opening stand. Himanshu Rana then anchored the innings with crucial partnerships, first with captain Ankit Kumar and then with Parth Vats, both of which helped Haryana stay on course. Rana’s 66 was the highest score of the innings, but it was Vats who ensured the chase continued, sharing a vital 35-run partnership with Nishant Sindhu.
Ravi Bishnoi played a key role for Gujarat, taking three wickets, including Rana’s, to halt Haryana’s progress. However, Vats and Sindhu’s efforts proved crucial as they helped maintain a steady run rate despite the collapse. When Sindhu’s wicket fell, Haryana had slipped to 192 for 8, but the contributions from their top order meant they still stayed ahead in the game, securing victory despite the late setbacks.
Gujarat had initially started strong, with openers Urvil Patel and Aarya Desai putting on 45 in seven overs. However, their progress was halted as they lost three quick wickets, with Chintan Gaja attempting to steady the innings. When key players like Saurabh Chauhan and Gaja fell, and Bishnoi was dismissed, it seemed like Gujarat might struggle to reach 150. Yet, Hemang Patel’s determined 54 off 62 balls, in a 54-run partnership for the ninth wicket, lifted Gujarat to 196. Haryana’s bowlers, including Sindhu and debutant Anuj Thakral, each took three wickets, with Anshul Kamboj contributing two, sealing Gujarat’s fate.
