Sunny Dhillon, a former assistant coach for the Pune Devils in the Abu Dhabi T10 league, has been handed a six-year ban from all forms of cricket by the ICC. This action follows his breach of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Anti-Corruption Code.
Dhillon was one of eight individuals charged in 2023, including Bangladeshi allrounder Nasir Hossain, for violations that occurred during the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10. These violations were related to alleged efforts to influence match outcomes during the tournament. The group of charged individuals also included Pune Devils’ co-owners Krishan Kumar Chaudhary and Parag Sanghvi, batting coach Ashar Zaidi, team manager Shadab Ahamed, and two domestic players.
Nasir Hossain received a two-year ban in January 2024, while Zaidi, Sanghvi, and Chaudhary were subsequently banned in August 2024 after admitting to corrupt practices and violations of the ECB’s anti-corruption code.

“These efforts were disrupted by the ICC and the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO) for the purposes of the ECB’s Code for the tournament,” an ICC release said. After a full hearing and presentation of written as well as oral argument, Dhillon was found guilty of:
Dhillon’s suspension has been backdated to September 13, 2023, the date he was provisionally suspended. The 2021 season marked the last time Pune Devils participated in the tournament, where they finished at the bottom of the standings with just one win in six matches.
After the surgery in London, Sai Sudharsan put out an Instagram post saying “will be back stronger in no time”
B Sai Sudharsan has undergone surgery in London for a sports hernia, and put out a social-media post on Tuesday saying, “Will be back stronger in no time.”
Sudharsan, the 23-year-old batter from Tamil Nadu and Gujarat Titans (GT), who is believed to be on the periphery of the India Test team—having already made his international debut in ODIs and T20Is—played just one match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament. In that game, he scored 9 runs against Tripura. Following this, he departed for the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. As a result, he is expected to miss the entire Vijay Hazare Trophy 50-over domestic tournament, scheduled to run from December 21 to January 18.
Before his solitary appearance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Sudharsan was part of the India A squad in Australia. He had a strong performance in the first four-day match, scoring 21 and 103, but struggled in the second, posting scores of 0 and 3. This followed a successful run in the initial phase of this season’s two-part Ranji Trophy, where he tallied 82 against Saurashtra and an impressive 213 against Delhi in his only two innings.
Sudharsan was among five players retained by Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction last month, securing his place for INR 8.50 crore (approximately US$1.1 million). The other retained players were Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia, and Shahrukh Khan. With the IPL 2025 season starting in March, GT will be hoping Sudharsan makes a complete recovery in time to replicate his performance from last season, where he was the team’s leading scorer with 527 runs from 12 innings at an average of 47.90 and a strike rate of 141.28.
