Guptill leaves the game as New Zealand’s highest run-scorer in T20Is with an impressive 3531 runs. In ODIs, he ranks third on the country’s all-time list with 7346 runs, behind only Ross Taylor and Stephen Fleming. Throughout his career, Guptill amassed 23 international centuries (3 in Tests, 18 in ODIs, and 2 in T20Is), making him one of New Zealand’s most prolific batsmen. His final appearance for New Zealand came in an ODI against Australia in September 2022.

Guptill made an unforgettable debut for New Zealand in 2009, scoring a century on debut against the West Indies in Auckland, where he remained unbeaten on 122. Younis Khan to Serve as Afghanistan’s Mentor for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has been appointed as a mentor for Afghanistan’s national team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) officially confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Wednesday. Younis, who has a wealth of experience as a player and coach, previously served as Afghanistan’s batting coach in 2022.

Sayeed Naseem Sadat, the spokesperson for the ACB, confirmed the news, stating, “ACB has assigned former experienced top-order Pakistani player Younis Khan as Mentor for Champions Trophy 2025. He (Younis) will join the team before the event starts in Pakistan.”

Younis Khan’s illustrious playing career is highlighted by his impressive record of 10,099 runs in 118 Tests, including a career-best 313 runs. He also became the world’s number-one batsman in the ICC rankings during his playing days and captained Pakistan to their first-ever T20 World Cup victory in 2009.

After his playing career, Younis transitioned into coaching, taking on several roles, including a short stint as Pakistan’s batting coach. He also worked with Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and most recently served as the head coach of the Bangla Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Younis Khan’s vast experience and expertise will be a valuable asset to Afghanistan as they prepare for the prestigious Champions Trophy 2025.
